Beijing 2008 Results Corrected for Chinese Taipei Weightlifters

On January 25, the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee held an Olympic Medals Ceremony to celebrate the corrections for two medalists at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games - Ms. Chen Wei-ling and Ms. Lu Ying-chi. Both athletes were awarded bronze medals in Beijing, but were upgraded at the end of 2017 following the several disqualifications for doping violations. Chen and Lu were presented with the medals by IOC Member Mr. C. K. Wu in accordance with the IOC protocol for Olympic medal ceremonies. Chen received the gold medal and Lu the silver for their weight categories. The overall medal count for the Chinese Taipei delegation at the Beijing Olympics is now 5 gold, 7 silver and 20 bronze. The event was witnessed by Mr. Te-Fu Lin, Director General of Sports Administration and Ministry of Education; Mr. Hong-Dow Lin, President of Chinese Taipei NOC; Ms. Jacqueline Yi-Ting Shen, Secretary General of Chinese Taipei NOC; and Ms. Hsia-Ling Tai, former Minister of Sports Affairs Council, the Executive Yuan. No positive test results at the 2017 IWF Junior World Championships

The IWF is pleased to announce that no prohibited substances were detected in any of the samples collected at the IWF JWC. The event featured 256 athletes, out of which a total of 166 tests were conducted including 43 blood and 123 urine during the IWF JWC between 15-23 June 2017 in Tokyo, Japan. The test distribution plan of the Event was carefully elaborated by the IWF Anti-Doping Commission which appointed the Japan Anti-Doping Agency to be the Sample Collection Authority of the IWF JWC. All analyses were conducted by the WADA-accredited Laboratory of Tokyo in Japan with the use of the most sophisticated detection methods. The successful Anti-Doping Outreach created in joint efforts with the Japan Anti-Doping Agency (JADA) on the occasion of the 2017 IWF JWC as well as the Education Seminar organized on site both aiming to provide useful knowledge for the participants strengthened the IWF’s efforts in its committed fight against doping. 2013 Russian President’s Cup Results

After a first edition held in Belgorod and a second edition in St. Petersburg; the 2013 Russian President’s Cup moved to Moscow. Weightlifters from 3 continents and 14 countries competed on the platform. Besides World, Continental Champions, Olympic Medallists also tried to grab victory. A new World Record was set in the Total with 334kg by Tatiana Kashirina (RUS) in the Women’s -+75kg bodyweight category.
